Verde Valley Theatre announces auditions for Bernard Slade’s light-hearted confection about love, friendship and theatrical trauma, Romantic Comedy. Auditions will be held on Monday and Tuesday, March 2nd and 3rd from 6:30 to 8:30 in the Clark Memorial Clubhouse auditorium in Clarkdale. Callbacks may be held Wednesday, March 3rd.
First produced on Broadway in 1979 starring Mia Farrow and Anthony Perkins, this romantic tale of two playwrights traces their relationship from first encounter through successful collaborations, culminating finally in a romantic relationship. Along the way spouses and lovers come and go, making a delightful mix of obstacles for the couple before their ultimate union.
The cast calls for 2 males and 4 females. Rehearsals begin about March 15 and performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30 PM and Sunday matinees at 2 PM, opening April 25 and closing May 11, 2008.
